Documentary
An intimate visual and aural exploration based on Victoria Ocampo’s reflective text from her Testimonies. The film delves into Ocampo’s profound concept of “landscape,” not merely as a scenic view, but as a cherished connection inextricably linked to her family’s summer residence, Villa Ocampo, and the nearby River Plate. Through a recovered 1958 recording of Ocampo in Buenos Aires, she emphasizes, “It is not only a portion of terrain regarded for its artistic aspect, as the dictionary defines. ‘It is much more, because it is much less.'” This documentary essay invites the audience into the personal recollections of one of the 20th century’s most prominent Latin American women, revealing the deep emotional bond to place.
