The City of Immortals (or The Zone)

Writer, Director, Producer, Editor

Experimental

This film transports viewers to a city lost to time, where remnants of forgotten objects, animals, and a few resilient inhabitants strive to rebuild what appears to have been devastated by an unknown phenomenon. One individual discovers and explores this compelling landscape, encountering a profound sense of terror. To articulate this experience, the film employs evocative phrases borrowed from Jorge Luis Borges’s short story “The Immortal.” Narrated by Michel Noher and shot in Brooklyn, NYC, this experimental short film invites us to delve into the unknown dimensions of the absolutely familiar. Produced before the 2020 Pandemic, it carries an unsettling prescience.
